As Roma’s inconsistency in the start of season apparently made Bojan Krkic re-evaluating his ambition as the young striker believes that targeting a Scudetto is too early for the Giallorossi this season.
The ex-Barcelona man stated that considering Roma at the moment are still a work in progress, reaching Europe, whether it’s on Champions League or Europa League would be the best thing for the capital club.
“We want to win the title. However, at the moment, the best we can target is a place in the Champions League or the Europa League. The squad has everything that it needs to do well. We shouldn’t create a drama when we lose and we shouldn’t talk of the Scudetto when we win. There is the possibility to have a great season. There is a beautiful project here,” Bojan said.
Furthermore, despite having a pretty rough start in Serie A, Bojan reveals that he is very happy in Rome and eager to prove his worth with the Giallorossi, who have put out great trust on him. The Spain under 21 attacker also hope that the comparison made between Roma and Barcelona would be stopped as both teams are actually not that similar.
I want to prove that I can become an important player. I’m really happy, I’m at a big club and we are doing well. We haven’t been inferior to any of the sides that we have played this term,” Bojan added. “I think it is wrong to compare us to Barcelona. We have our own style and we look to transform the Coach’s footballing philosophy on to the pitch. By doing that we’ll be able to aim high.”
Although Bojan doesn’t have much believe in the Scudetto but at the moment Roma’s chance is still pretty open since they’re only seven points behind the current joint leaders is Serie A, Udinese and Lazio. However, it’s obvious that the capital club’s inconsistency and lack of maturity is something which could eventually gets them into the place where Bojan was referring which is challenging for European place by the end of season.
