Bill Clinton Heads Presentation For World Cup Bid

Who needs collusion when you have Bill Clinton former President of the United States representing your side and giving a speech the day before World Cup voting begins?

Slick Willy is expected to be part of the USA’s presentation to FIFA on December 1st, one day before the secret ballot votes are finalized for the 2018 and 2022 World Cup hosting destinations, and the former American Prez is a huge soccer enthusiast and even attended a few of the USA’s matches this summer in South Africa.

Former President Clinton was recently named chairman of the U.S. bid committee in May and will be a featured member of the presentation group that will give one final speech to the executive FIFA board that will be choosing between the U.S. and four other nations (Qatar, Australia, Japan and South Korea) for the honor of hosting the 2022 World Cup. Clinton hopes to persuade the board into selecting the United States for the honor and the former President was quick to praise the tournament’s “unifying force to bring people together”:

I am committed to this effort because I have seen firsthand the powerful unifying force of the FIFA World Cup — bringing together people of all ages, backgrounds, and beliefs.

No word yet on if any other famous people will be involved in the U.S. bid presentation, but I’m sure that David Beckham could be involved in England’s pitch for the 2018 honor as well because the FIFA comittee will also be choosing the 2018 World Cup destination and the four choices for that Cup selection will be between England, Russia, Spain-Portugal and Belgium-Holland.
