After four matches, the Italian Serie A continue to get interesting especially after three big names, Ac Milan, Inter Milan and As Roma all picked up their first league win while the likes of Napoli and Juventus only managed to get a point.
Claudio Ranieri immediately proved that his appointment is needed after leading the Nerazzurri into a 3-1 win over Bologna, in San Siro, Clarence Seedorf was the hero for the Italian champion while at Pablo Osvaldo finally gives a smile for Luis Enrique’s Roma.
Traveling to Bologna, Inter finally showed their attacking strength as goals from Giampaolo Pazzini, Diego Milito’s penalty and Lucio were more than enough to set Ranieri’s debut flying as their opponent can only pulled a goal back through Alessandro Diamanti. The Nerazzurri, however are losing Wesley Sneijder and Dejan Stankovic, who picked up an injury before last weekend’s match and won’t be available for the Blue and Black’s midweek Champions League clash against CSKA Moskow.
In the other part of Milano, the Rossoneri fans must thanked their veteran Dutchman, who scored a lovely cross-shot attempt from outside of the penalty box in just five minutes after the kick off. Seedorf’s goal turned out to be the only one in the match as the defending champion breath a sigh of relief after picking up their first three points under an injury packed situation their having.
Meanwhile, Italian’s Tiki-taka experimental squad, As Roma also grabbed an important result in the weekend as they finally grabbed their first three points in the league, thanks to Pablo Osvaldo’s single goal in the second half against Parma. Despite still not playing that convincing, the Giallorossi will obviously get more motivation with that result as it could be the confidence boost they’ve been looking for to kick start their season.
The weekend result also saw the tightness of Serie A as Juventus, Udinese and also Napoli, who seemed liked flying in their first two games, starts to slow down a bit as those three teams only picked up a point last week. The “Old Lady” were held into a 1-1 draw by Catania, as Milos Krasic’s goal in the second half canceled out Bergessio’s first period strike, earning Antonio Conte’s side their second consecutive draws.
Udinese also grabbed their second draw of the season after holding Cagliari into a 0-0 draw at Sant Elia, that point is enough to put them joining Juve at the top of the Serie A table for the time being. While, Napoli seemed to lose their head a bit after the famous 3-1 victory over Milan as Walter Mazzarri’s team only got a point from their latest home match against Fiorentina, showing their inconsistency yet again.
