Big Phil Snubs Juventus

Former Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has turned down an offer to join Italian Powerhouse Juventus. Scolari who is under contract with Bunyodkor of Uzebekistan for 18 months has reiterated that he has no desire to leave the club just yet. Ciro Ferrara must have breathed a sigh of relief when he received the news. The Under performing Juve manager is under fire to leave the Bianconeri after a series of poor showings in both the Serie A and the Champions League.

Ferrara’s side have lost 5 of their last 6 games and it is easy to see why the club took this form of action. Juve’s current run of terrible results has left the club with little hopes of wining the scudetto this season. I hav never really been afan of Scolari but in the current circumstances, i think he would be the club’s best hope. Scolari’s resume is glittering to say the least. He has coached some of the world’s premier clubs and countries.

Among his most notable coaching jobs include: coaching both the Brazilia and the Portuguese national teams. He also coached English Premiership Chelsea where he was sacked after only 8 months in charge. His first defeat with the blues was on 26th October 2008 when Liverpool’s Xabi Alonso netted through a deflect shot toend Chelsea’s 86 game unbeaten ome streak. This coupled with Chelsea’s barren draw with Hull City led to his sacking.

There is no doubt that Scolari would have brought some of that Brazilian flair to Turin. Scolari was paid 16,000,000 million pounds as compensation by Chelsea to add on to the 13,000,000 million Euros per year he is receiving at Bunyodkor. This  only begs to ask if Juve could really afford his services.
