AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has decided to stay quiet after Milan’s 2-1 home loss to Juventus last night. A clearly irritated Berlusconi gave a short reply when questioned by reporters.
“When you win you speak, but when you lose then you stay quiet, especially when you lose like we did tonight.”
A disappointing loss for Milan but an inspiring win for the Bianconeri. Juve now move up to 4th in the league standings on 15 points 2 behind Milan. Adding his voice to the debate was Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri who thought that Milan did not deserve to lose.
“Milan played a good game, we created chances, we limited them early in the first half. We had chances to draw the game, but we were unable to. This is football,”
“The result is not what our football showed tonight, but this is football.
“We made mistakes for their goals. This is a game we certainly did not deserve to lose.
“This is football. We have to accept defeat with serenity and move on. I am sure that we will still be able to fight to win the league.”
The league just got better. Milan’s loss although very unfortunate i think is just what was needed to raise the level of competition. Inter, Milan and Juve know that they cannot afford any more slip ups.
Leaders Lazio on the other hand can afford to lose today and still remain top of the league standings however, they would not want to miss the perfect chance to extend their lead at the summit.
Once again it’s back to the drawing board for Allegri. With the Rossoneri preparing to welcome Madrid to the San Siro on Wednesday for their second leg Champions League fixture, Allegri is is a race against time to prepare his side mentality and physically for the match.
Yesterday’s loss could open Pandora’s box for Milan and throw their entire season into disarray.
