Barcelona and Arsenal have been going back and forth for some time now in regards to Cesc Fabregas and it seems like the relationship between both clubs were gradually sinking. Now reports are stating that Barcelona will be looking to rebuild their relationship with the EPL club before making a new offer for the Spanish midfielder.
With Barcelona already having made an offer for Fabregas which was said to be for 35 million euros, Arsenal immediately rejected the offer and made it crystal clear too the La Liga champions that Fabregas is not for sale.
Even though Fabregas himself has hinted that he would want to make a return to Barcelona where he played in the youth ranks before going to Arsenal, the Gunners do not want to let go of the clubs captain. There is no doubt that Arsenal must be a little upset with Barcelona as they continue to try and acquire Fabregas and it seems that Barcelona will try and work with building their relationship before trying to make another offer for Fabregas.
“Relations exist, but we want them to be good, We are not in a phase of negotiation, only a phase of relationship building. Once we have done that, we will see if there is a chance to start negotiations to sign him . Until August 31, all possible signings remain open.” Barca president Sandro Rosell said about current situation.
Do I see Fabregas making the switch?
Not in this summers transfer window. Arsenal have made it clear that they want to keep Fabregas with them as long as they can even if Fabregas has hinted that he would want to re-unite with his old club. Arsene Wenger knows how important Cesc is to their club and to find a replacement for him will not be easy. If Barca and Arsenal do however make a deal, I can’t see it being for just a large sum of money, I think it would have to involve 1 or 2 of their players as well.
