Barcelona have lined up Marcelo Biesla as a possible replacement for Guardiola who is set to announce his resignation today. Guardiola’s future with the club has remain in uncertainty ever since his remarks to take a sabbatical surfaced early this year.
Reports emerging suggest that Guardiola met with both club president Sandro Rosell and sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta on Thursday and informed them of his desire to leave at the end of the season.
The Barcelona board has already moved in quick by setting their eyes on Athltetic Bilbao boss Marcelo Biesla whose contract is also up at the end of the season.
That said, it is not hard to understand Guardiola’s decision. After having led Barcelona to 13 titles in the past 4 years, fatigue is bound to creep in. His decision to leave at the top of his game is a right for both the club and his future. Moreover, he is only 41 years old and can always return to the game.
What do you think? Is Guardiola right in leaving Barcelona?
