Barcelona Face Tough Matches Ahead

Barcelona have tough assignments ahead of them in the next couple of days. First and foremost, the Catalans are facing an early exit from Europe’s lucrarive tournament – the Uefa Champions League if they do not beat an impressive Inter Milan on Tuesday night and only a few days later, they entertain los merengues in the el clasico on Sunday.

Barca will have to get their inspiration from somewhere else as their sensational wonder boy Lionel Messi will only be able to support his team from the bench. Messi who nursing a torn thigh muscle is certain to miss Tuesday home game with Inter. Former Barca player Samuel Eto’o is relishing Tuesday’s encounter at his old club and he has all but certaintly made his intentions clear that anything other than a win at the Nou Camp will not go down well for him.

Barca coach Pep Guardiola will have to rely on the in form Ibrahimovic to ensure they get all the three points and escape an early exit from the tournament. This Match will play a big role in Barca’s other potentially explosive tie against Real Madrid on Sunday.

A loss against Inter today will definitely leave the Catalans with a psychological effect as they prepare to host Madrid. Losing to Madrid will leave them four points of the pace in the La Liga title race. That might not seem like much but with the chasing pack of  Sevilla and Valencia not to far off, Barcelona will not want to take any chances.

Meanwhile Madrid will welcome back their star player Cristiano Ronaldo who has been out injured for the last two months. Ronaldo who sent his fans a message via  Madrid’s website thanked them for their support through out his lengthy lay-off.

You can be certain of one thing, the team that wins this match will end up wining the title. This will be a tough one to call but i am putting my money on Madrid.
