Chad Ochocinco has always wanted to be more than just an NFL player. The star receiver of the Cinnatti Bengals claimed during last Summer Olympics that he could beat Michael Phelps in a swimming meet. And the eccentric receiver also outran a racehorse once to show his exceptional speed. And as you can see from the photo, #85 is also a huge fan of golf.
But what many didn’t know about the often outspoken NFL receiver was his passion for soccer. Chad Johnson Ochocinco was given the perfect opportunity to showoff these European football skills in a preseason game against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Starting kicker Shayne Graham tweaked a muscle in warm-ups and the team decided to allow it’s star receiver kick for the club. And not only did Ochocinco bomb a kickoff inside the 10 yard line to give his Bengals outstanding field position, but he also booted an impressive looking extra point in the second quarter to seal the victory 7-6.
After the game Ochocinco branded himself a new nickname and gave all of the credit for the kicks to his love for the game of soccer,
‘Esteban’ Ochocinco is back, the most interesting footballer in the world. Everyone has to remember, I’ve always said that soccer is my No. 1 sport. I think Ronaldinho would be proud of me right now. Soccer’s my first love, Kicking’s easy … like riding a bike. I can kick them from 50, 60 yards, left or right hash mark. … I kicked all through high school.”
And like all things that encompass Chad Ochocinco, the footballer has plenty of confidence in his game.
Regardless of what game that is.
