As Roma Set Sights On Thiago Alcantara?

As Roma’s seems still keen on continuing their special relationship with Barcelona by trying to prize up the Catalan club’s young talent, Thiago Alcantara, as one of the Giallorossi’s new target for this summer.

Reports from Italy suggested that Luis Enrique is very keen on reuniting Thiago along with another former Barca youngster, Bojan Krkic, who already arrived to the Italian capital city earlier this month.

Football Italia reported that Roma is ready to submit a bid for Alcantara, although there haven’t been any mentions regarding the methods or numbers being involved for the capital club’s offer to the Catalan club. Apparently, the potential arrival of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona might be the one that moved Enrique in trying to acquire the talented midfielder, who just got his first senior caps for the Spanish national team last Wednesday in a friendly game against Italy.

Although the chance seems to be far fetched, considering the fact that Barcelona have recently extended Thiago’s contract and put out an enormous release clause, but the close relationship between Enrique and the Catalan side could open things up. Moreover, should the strong rumors stating Fabregas will indeed sign for Barca by the end of the week, than there’s a possibility that Roma can at least make a loan offer for the 20-years-old midfield talent.

Thiago himself has already stated that his ambition is to play first team football as much as he can and become an important player in world football, without making any special pledge of doing it at Barcelona. So, should the chance to play in the Catalan club’s first team is slim this summer, the Italian-born youngster might just take a surprise switch to the capital of Italy, albeit it won’t be a permanent one.
