As Roma Reveal De Rossi’s Renewal

Daniele De RossiThe transfer saga involving As Roma’s vice captain, Daniele De Rossi, apparently has come to its final conclusion after the club’s director, Franco Baldini, revealed that a deal have finally been reach between both parties.

Baldini informed that the agreement was actually made during the week but they decided to keep things under wrap ahead of the match against Inter Milan, so the players can give all their focus which turned out successful indeed.

“We reached the agreement during the week, but didn’t want to distract from the game against Inter, I apologise to all those members of staff who had to deny a deal had been reached, as it would’ve been inopportune to talk about it before the match,” Baldini stated.

The director also ensured the fans that De Rossi’s intention is obviously to stay with the capital side especially since the door is already opened for other clubs to also enter personal negotiation with the midfielder. Baldini is very delighted with Roma’s success in keeping hold of their vice captain, considering the Italian international has really showed his importance for the team with his fine performances this season.

“There were difficulties in completing the talks because we were no longer technically the club in charge, as he was free to sign for whoever he wanted. We are happy that we’re the team he wanted to sign for and that says a lot about his intentions,” Baldini added. Obviously De Rossi is a crucial player and when the terms of the agreement are revealed, you’ll see we made great efforts to keep him here.”

Reports suggested that De Rossi is set to stay for five more seasons with the Giallorossi, an ensuring length indeed which would pretty much keep the Italian international at the club until his final professional years. The Italian international is actually being wanted by many big clubs especially since his previous contract supposedly ending this summer, meaning that he can easily join other teams by the end of season, but it seems that the midfielder is set to follow Francesco Totti’s footstep.
