I bet Juve’s management must be in panic mode after another loss in the league. Just a couple of days ago they were on record saying that Ferrara will continue on as coach despite losing to Chievo Verona
They must really be wishing they never made such a statement. Last night, Juventus hosted AS Roma in another top flight match that saw the Romans win 2-1.
Juventus took the lead through Alessandro Del Piero in the 51st minute.Del Piero volleyed a left footer into the far corner of Julio Sergio’s goal to put the Bianconeri in front. This goal was a re-make of Del Piero’s former glory days. It just goes to show that skill is not something that can be easily lost.
Roma leveled in the 68th minute through a penalty when Rodrigo Taddei was brought down inside the box by Fabio Grosso. Totti stepped up to score his 188th goal in Serie A which moved him to within two goals of the leagues top scorer. A surprising fact is that Totti’s goal was the first he had ever scored for Roma in Turin.
Riise grabbed Roma’s winner in the 93rd minute to leave Juventus reeling from their second straight loss in the Serie A. Juve’s hopes of winning a trophy this season look to be over as they now lie in 5th position. Juve’s problems are deep and they should now try and at least hang onto a 4th place finish. In the night’s other game, high-flying Parma were thrashed 3-0 by bottom side Catania.
