Ac Milan’s trouble with injuries continues again as Thiago Silva will be out for around a month after picking up a thigh problem during the Rossoneri’s last match against Roma on Saturday.
This news is surely a blow for the Red and Black squad as now they must play without Silva against Barcelona this midweek and maybe even for the second leg as well.
Silva actually already feeling a little bit muscle problem ahead of the Roma clash but considering the importance of the game, coach, Massimiliano Allegri opted to start the Brazilian, which was also accepted by the defender. However, apparently things didn’t go right as after dueling with Fabio Borini, the ex-Fluminense player immediately asked for a substitution as he was feeling pain in his thigh, and it happened after only 10 minutes after the kick off.
Some fans might put the blame on Allegri for not resting Silva but obviously with Juventus chasing their back in Serie A, the coach would try to play all of his available best players on the pitch, including the Brazilian. Moreover, considering his muscle issue, there will be no guarantee that the center back might not pick up the injury during the Barcelona game, as a problem in that area can be very delicate indeed.
The absence of Silva will obviously raise more doubts about Milan’s chance in handling Barcelona, although they can really hope that Alessandro Nesta can be fit for the clash as that could ease up the problem as Philippe Mexes is still available. This injury issues has once again became such a big mess for the Rossoneri and they will obviously need to fix things around because their problem have been holding their full potential all season long.
