Borussia Dortmund’s Jurgen klopp has ruled out the possibility of joining Chelsea in the summer. The 48 year old German tactician stressed that despite being linked with a move to the London club, he has no intentions of leaving Dortmund any time soon.
“I can turn them down straight away.I will not be moving there. But I do think it is cool that I am being named in the same breath as Mourinho and Guardiola. That is enough for me – that is already a personal triumph, but I am not available, sorry.” he said during an interview with Sky television.
Things are looking a bit uncertain for Di Matteo especially after last night’s loss to Man City. Di Matteo who still believes that Chelsea can finish in a top four spot has been Chelsea’s stand in coach since the 4th of this month when AVB was sacked.
The loss though disappointing, should serve as a reminder to Abramovich that losing is part of the game. That said, the Blues will have a chance to cut the deficit between themselves and 4th place Tottenham to 2 points should they beat them on Saturday.
Both teams prepare to face each other at the Stamford Bridge knowing that anything less than a win could spell doom for their Champions League hopes next season.
It will be interesting to see who Abramovich settles on if indeed he chooses to replace Di Matteo at the end of the season. At the moment, the individuals considered favourites to land the demanding job are all under contract with various clubs.
Jose Mourinho has come out to say that he will not be leaving Real Madrid this summer, Pep Guardiola on the other hand has also dismissed talks of leaving Barcelona.
This leaves Guus Hiddink as the only coach who has remain open to the idea of coaching Chelsea. Hiddink is currently under contract with Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala until June and has stated that he will only make a decision when his contract runs out.
