Inter Milan still cant get their act together after picking up another defeat on the weekend as Bologna trashed Claudio Ranieri’s team 3-0 at San Siro, giving the Nerazzurri their third consecutive defeat in the league.
Goals from Marco Di Vaio and Robert Acquafresca didn’t only enraged many Inter fans but also puts Ranieri’s future under threat once again after the veteran tactician seemingly eluded it with his seven match winning streak success.
Reports from Italy suggested that Inter’s management have already considering some names to replace Ranieri but for the time being it seems that for the time being, no changes will be done as situation is very delicate at the moment. Rumors has it that Luis Figo, Beppe Baresi or even Roberto Baggio were being touted as potential replacement but apparently the Nerazzurri’s management is willing to give more chances for the current tactician since changing things at this moment could once again make things worse.
However, the chance for Ranieri isn’t likely to be that much as reports also claimed that the veteran coach might only be given time until Inter’s next league game against Napoli and if things still isn’t working out than it seems that another changes will arrive for the Beneamata this season. Apart from the important league match against the Partenopei, this midweek, Javier Zanetti and co will also face Marseille in the Champions League, putting more difficulties for the Nerazzurri to improve their current poor result.
Should Ranieri eventually be replaced, it means that Inter have made three coach changes this season with losing Leonardo at the start of season becomes the first outcome for the club’s instability in the last couple seasons. Giam Piero Gasperini was supposedly the one being set as the new coach this summer but he was fired after just few matches in the league after picking up several poor results, giving Ranieri a chance to show his stuffs for the time being.
Aside from the several potential caretaker, there’s actually a big name that could enter Inter’s coaching role, which is Fabio Capello, who has just resign as English national team manager. However, the former Ac Milan tactician reportedly is still not keen on coming back and coaching in Italy after leaving due to Calciopoli problems few seasons ago. It would be interesting to see whether Ranieri could sustain his job for at least until the end of season, considering he did had some good results this season despite not managing to improve Inter’s performances.
