The annual award ceremony which was held in Milan, is voted for by Serie A players and recognises the best player, best coach, best club and the best referee.
Ibra scooped both the best player in the league and the best foreign player award with Massimiliano Allegri winning the best coach award. Other winners on the night were Milan’s Thiago Silva who was named the best defender and Stephen El Shaarawy (now with Milan)who was given the best Serie B award in 2011.
England Coach Fabio Capello who was formerly with Milan and Juventus while in Italy was handed the special critics award.
Currently the top scorer for Milan this season with 14 goals in 16 appearances, Ibrahimovic is on course to establish himself as one of Serie A’s best ever imports and i am not just saying this.
Having played for Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona and now Milan, Ibra has maintained his goal scoring form winning league titles with all these clubs. However, his big mouth and off pitch sideshows often overshadow his performances.
Meanwhile, there is more good news for Milan fans. Though a deal for Man City striker Carlos Tevez is still in the works, the Argentne international has reiterated his desire to play for Milan.
In a statement that appeared in Argentinean media Tevez was quoted as saying that his desire remains to join Milan.
“I see myself only in the red and black shirt, I am hoping for Milan,” Tevez was quoted by m24digital.
With only a week left until the transfer window officially closes, it is still not clear where Tevez will be heading. One thing is however, certain, staying with City definitely won’t happen.
Mancini has ruled out Tevez stating with City and is on record saying that a deal for the striker should be finalised as soon as possible.
