Defending EPL champions Chelsea are currently experiencing their worst ever run of form this is according to their Ivorian striker Didier Drogba. Truth be told, the blues and to be specific Carlo Ancelotti lost the plot with the untimely dismisall of assisstant caoch Ray Wilkins.
Ancelotti who had a very close relationship with his assistant was powerless to stop the club from showing Mr. Wilkins the door. This action is thought to be the genesis of Chelsea’s downfall.
With the Blues missing the chance to go top of the Premier League on Saturday, Ancelotti’s short stint at the West London club is coming under immense pressure.
A disappointed Ancelotti was at pains to explain his sides poor showings especially in the second half.
“I am disappointed and angry,”
“Not just because of the result. We played good football in the first half and the second half was totally different. We played the long ball. We were a little bit scared. I didn’t like this.
For a team that was banging in goals like clock work in the ealy stages of the season, Chelsea have now won only 1 game in their last 6 league outings.
“We are working to play a particular kind of football and I don’t understand why we have changed it. We have to look at it and I have to understand and change it. I don’t think it is a problem of concentration. Everybody knew it was a very important game for us to move on from the difficult moment we are still in.
“We needed to play better from the back and in the second half, it was the wrong way to play football. I am worried yes, because we haven’t won a lot of games. The second half was totally wrong. We have to do better.”
I have to admit that unless Ancelotti starts to show some results pronto, then, he could just be the next coach to leave Stamford Bridge on sour terms.
