Its very obvious that Carlo Ancelotti dislikes Inter. In fact, during his tenure as Milan boss, the Italian tactician was constantly tearing at the Nerazzurri and their former coach Jose Mourinho. So it comes as no surprise when Ancelotti backed outcast Mario Balotelli’s decision to join EPL club Manchester City.
Balotelli completed his move to England last week after almost 2 months of negotiations between his agent and Inter President Massimo Moratti. With City not getting the perfect start to their season, a lot is riding on the shoulders of Balotelli.
Considered as one of the hottest young talents in the game today, Super Mario has a lot to learn if he is to cement his name in the record books. His flaring temper has cost him dearly in the Serie A with a number of his on supporters booing him occasionally.
Was city the best choice for Balotelli? In my opinion, i do not think so. With a squad that is bursting full of talent, Balotelli will be lucky if he gets a considerable amount of regular playing time.
Carlos Tevez, David Silva, Emmanuel Adebayor, Robinho, Wright-Phillips, Bellamy are just some of the players Balotelli will be competing with for a place in the starting 11.
Current Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has tipped the 20 year old to be a huge success.
“Mario is a great player who comes into a team that was already strong last year and which has improved in the transfer window.”
“Balotelli is a player suited to this league. He is very strong physically and technically. He will slot into his new team in a hurry.
I do agree with Ancelotti on one point though. Balotelli has the physique and pace that is characteristic of the Premier League, however, if he does not prepare himself mentally for this new challenge, then, it could just be a case of de javu for him inEngland.
Manchester City face another challenging task on Thursday as they prepare to face Romanian club Timisoara in a Europa League play-off tie.
