Allegri Post Match Reactions

AC Milan were last night humbled at the Bernabeu when they lost 2-0 to Real Madrid in the Group G Champions League fixture. This coupled with Ajax’s 2-1 win over French club Auxerre, means that Milan cannot afford any more slip -ups if they are to progress through to the knock out stages.

Madrid lead the group with 9 points from 3 matches while Milan and Ajax are  level on 4 points with Auxerre bottom in the group with no points. Two quick goals in succession from Ronaldo and Oezil sealed the fate of the Rossoneri with 3/4 of the game yet to be played.

Milan keeper on the night Marco Aemlia expressed disappointment with the score but was quick to state that there is no need to worry just yet.

“My debut? I knew yesterday that I would play. I tried to give my best tonight. We are sorry for the two goals. Madrid are a great team. so are we. I am sure that we will go through the group,” Amelia told Sky Sport Italia.

“It’s disappointing as we wanted to do well because we won here last year.

“Lets move on. How to play the return at San Siro? We are talking about the strongest team in the world here. If we play well we are good and we can beat anyone.”

Milan coach Massimo Allegri equaled expressed disappointment with the result saying that his side allowed Madrid to come at them.

“Things went bad tonight. But then Real Madrid are a world-class team. Our game went downhill in 90 seconds,”

“We had spaces to play how we wanted, but couldn’t. And we allowed them to come and steal good balls from us, this allowed them to crush us.

“After we played well and wide. Therefore I believe Real Madrid did well, but so did we.”

This result makes it harder for Milan to progress from the Group and means that their lies in the hands of their group memebers.
