Christmas came early for Milan and their fans when Silvio Berlusconi showered the fans with ‘presents’ in the form of Robinho and Ibrahimovic who until just days before the transfer window deadline were expected to remain with their respective clubs.
These two additions gave new boss Massimiliano Allegri something to smile about as the Rossoneri prepare to end arch rivals Inter’s dominance.
“I am delighted with the arrival of Ibrahimovic,” “I didn’t expect an added reinforcement of the calibre of Robinho. It’s a very nice present from Berlusconi and I thank him from the bottom of my heart.”
“We have a team of the top level even in Europe,” “We must go all the way to the final at Wembley.
It is now up to Allegri to fashion a team that can battle on all fronts for the much needed silverware that has eluded them for such a long time. The Rossoneri and their fans have finally got what they have been longing for and will definitely get Berlusconi back in their good books.
Berlusconi came under heavy pressure towards the end of the summer transfer window with many calling on him to sell the club as his limited buyings were thought to be not enough to challenge the likes of Inter Milan, Juventus and AS Roma.
Milan’s next game is against Cesena who were the main surprise of match day 1 when they held Roma to a barren draw.
