The summer plan of Ac Milan, the current Scudetto winner has become one of the most interesting commodity for the media lately, as the fans have pretty much been annoyed with several rumors about certain players that Milan are targeting.
Trying to calm the situation down, recently the Rossoneri’s coach, Massimiliano Allegri, confirmed Milanisti that they will indeed buy quality players adding that the recent link to Napoli’s star, Marek Hamsik, is nothing more than just paper talk.
However, Allegri still refuses to name the player that Milan are targeting to fill the midfield position and not only that, the coach even hinted that there might even be more than just one player that the Rossoneri will add in the summer transfer window. The ex-Cagliari coach previously played a game with the media about the player that the Rossoneri’s after by describing physical attributes such as height, hair condition, eye color, and even shoe size.
“We are looking for a Milan-class player in midfield with certain characteristics, The club will sign important players for me to train. Hamsik? We never went after him, so it was all just newspaper talk.“Adriano Galliani is right when he says we have time until August 31. Don’t forget last year Zlatan Ibrahimovic arrived on August 27, then Kevin-Prince Boateng and Robinho came too,” Allegri said.
The coach’s recent statement pretty much hinted that Milan might not only get a left sided midfielder, that was strongly stated by the club’s vice president, Adriano Galliani, but possibly other players depending on the situation of the market. Last summer as many knew, Galliani also temporarily ‘closed’ the market after the signing of Kevin Prince Boateng, before suddenly grabbing two late superstars such as Robinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic by the end of August.
After winning the Serie A this season, Milan already confirmed that they are planning to get more competitive in Europe next season, so the summer planning from the Rossoneri are being set in building a much more competitive squad. So far for their Champions League campaign next summer, the fashion capital side already added the likes of Philippe Mexes along with Taye Taiwo for the defense. Not only that, there are also several January reinforcement that would really help the team such as Mark Van Bommel, Antonio Cassano and Urby Emanuelson.
