Massimiliano Allegri’s future with Ac Milan have been hit with many minor words recently, especially after the Rossoneri lose their first place spot to Juventus in the league table just few matches before Serie A ends.
Speaking to the press ahead of Milan’s match against Siena, Allegri admitted that his future might be up for discussion but not until the end of season, that’s why at the moment he only wants to focus on chasing Juve instead of replying the rumors.
“I do not judge myself, the club will decide whether I failed or not. On May 13 we will draw a line under the campaign and evaluate it. I am not irritated by these reports, nor worried. Up until May 13 I am on this bench, then we’ll see. I can give advice on players to sign, but the club chooses the Coach,” Allegri said.
Rumors have been flying out heavenly recently, especially after Milan’s failure in the Champions League which immediately followed by losing their top seat spot in Serie A in the space of a week. Things got even more complicated as they went three points a drift from Juventus, with only few games left in the league, causing many speculation that Allegri will be sacked by the end of season as president Silvio Berlusconi have been really disappointed with his work recently.
Allegri seemed to acknowledged the situation but apparently isn’t handling it that well at times, causing reports of several disappointment in Milan’s dressing room in recent matches. Despite of the current difficult situation, the former Cagliari coach still try to push his team’s morale back on top as he believes the Scudetto haven’t been lost as just yet.
“We are still in the race and I like to think Milan still have a chance, even if it above all depends on Juventus. All we have to do is focus on getting three points against Siena tomorrow. Looking at the Bianconeri, it’s difficult to think they can lose points, but anything can happen in football,” the tactician added.
It would definitely be interesting to see what will happen with Milan and also Allegri by the end of season, although it seems very likely that he won’t be around should the Scudetto is lost. Rumors have already linking the Rosseneri with several famous names, such as Fabio Capello and also Pep Guardiola, who has just announced his departure from Barcelona next season.
