Racing Santander
All Racing Santander wants for X-mas is a win at home for their patient fans. I know it is shocking that after about four months the squad still has a goose egg in the home win column, but the eighteenth place squad seems to have this whole home and away thing mixed up. Racing is 0-1-5 at home with a -10 goal differential. By far the worst of any team in La Liga.
On the road the squad is 2-3-2 with a +3 goal differential. There are eleven different top level squads that have yet to achieve a second road win this season, but Racing is not one of them. In fact sixth place Mallorca and 8th place Athletic Bilbao both have yet to win a second road match.
So maybe for X-mas Racing should be asking for road matches every week. Probably not a good idea though.
Getafe
All Getafe wants for X-mas is more hat tricks from Roberto Soldado. And can you blame them? Leading scorer Soldado has only scored goals in four matches this season, but two of those matches he achieved the rare hat trick. Soldado’s effort this year speaks for his entire team. When they are hot they are as good as anybody, but when they are not don’t expect to hear anything for a few weeks.
Getafe does own the sixth best offense in the league and currently in ninth place they might contend for a top six finish if they continue to score at the pace that they have so far, but Soldado does lead the team in two different categories: Goals scored and yellow cards. Getafe needs there star on the pitch if they want to keep up their positive results.
