Tomorrow’s Serie A encounter between AC Milan and Juventus at the San Siro is the biggest match of the weekend in Europe and it could set the tone for either side for the remainder of the year.
Milan come into this fixture oozing confidence hoping to pick up where they left off in May when they beat the Bianconeri 3-0 in Turin. Last season the Rossoneri recorded a 100% record against Juventus beating with a similar margin at the San Siro early in the season.
This time though, both sides are equally prepared for the match as is evident by the signings they made in the summer. For Milan, this will be the first real test for their stars. Milan are second in the league with 17 points 2 ahead of arch rivals Inter Milan. Juventus on the other handare in 5th place and a win would greatly improve their confidence and standing in the table.
Head To Head
The first meeting between these two clubs dates back to 1901 when both were just less than 5 years old. Milan emerged victorious beating Juventus 3-2 to go onto the league final where they beat Genoa to win their first Italian title. It is believed this is when their rivalry started.
In their last 6 meetings, both sides have recorded an equal number of victories, losses and draws and so tomorrow’s game could go either way. Milan’s last 3 games have seen them win 2 and lose 1 while Juventus in their last 3 games have recorded 2 draws and i victory.
