There is no secret about it. AC Milan wants David Beckham to return to the club next January. Newly appointed coach and former Brazilian football star Leonardo wants all the help he can get in his first season steering the Rossoneri since Carlo Ancelotti’s departure to Chelsea. And can you blame him? The club is still coping with the tough loss of Brazilian star, Kaka, to La Liga’s Real Madrid.
The young first-year coach has recently taken a custom to blogging about the hopeful possibility of Beckham returning to the club in the near future. Leonardo on Beck’s future in Italy on the club’s website, ”David is without doubt a very intelligent player and I don’t think there is anything strange to say that he could come back into my plans, because he can fit into any system.”
It is also quite obvious that Beckham wouldn’t mind another brief stint in a more competitive league like Italy next year. Especially since he would like to remain relevant to English supporters with the World Cup coming up next summer.
It is also been said that Becks spent a lot of time with the Milan players prior to their recent Galaxy/Milan match. Leonardo claims that Milan and their fans simply “love” the Brit. Leonardo’s post-game comments, “We would be happy if he came back because he did really well. He’s incredible. The precision he has is something very, very special. He never missed the ball. He controlled the ball. The way the Galaxy plays is very, very important. They see that every ball begins with him.”
