Ac Milan gets a huge morale boost ahead of the upcoming derby against Inter Milan as they Rossoneri takes away all three point from Palermo and also leapfrogged Lazio at the top of Serie A table after the Roma based club stumbled again this midweek.
Playing at their home turf, Milan earned themselves a deserved 3-1 victory thanks to the goals by Alexandre Pato, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho that lighten up the atmosphere at the San Siro.
Coming into the game without the likes of Gennaro Gattuso, Andrea Pirlo and other injured players, Milan started out the game strongly as thy managed to completely nullify Javier Pastore’s threat in the game. After series of intense pressure, the Rossoneri finally took the lead after Pato successfully headed Clarence Seedorf’s corner pass Salvatore Sirigu on Palermo’s goal. The goal pretty much send a message that the Brazilian wonder-kid is coming back into his goal scoring from after having a drought couple of weeks ago.
In the start of second half, Palermo looked to take the game from Milan as the Sicilian side are looking for the equalizer they needed, although having trouble in breaking through the Rossoneri’s defense the Rossaner luckily earned a goal back thanks to Abbiati’s poor judgment. The ex-Atletico Madrid keeper seemingly was out of position as he couldn’t save a long range shoot from Bacinovic that doesn’t really looked that dangerous.
Palermo’s fluke goal seems to revive the Rossoneri’s spirit as they stepped up their gear once again and attacked the Rossanero fiercely that finally resulted in a penalty for the home team after Massimo Ambrosini was brought down by Sirigu in the box. Ibrahimovic successfully converted the penalty and restore Milan’s lead, just minutes after that goal, the Swede gets himself involved again in his team’s third which was scored by Robinho. Breaking from the offside trap, Ibra advanced forward t Palermo’s goal before sending an excellent assist to the former Real Madrid player, who slammed his shots into the net.
Unfortunately for the Rossoneri, the victory might cost them dearly as they lost Pato and Inzaghi in the second half due to injuries that will still be checked in the net 24 hour. Surely loosing them especially the Brazilian wonder-kid in the upcoming derby would be a big blow for Milan as the former Internacional player has just started to re-discover his goal scoring touch in the last two games.
