Aaron Ramsey Wants That Winning Feeling Again

aaron-ramsey2Arsenal’s FA Cup final match-winner Aaron Ramsey is relishing his return to Wembley for Sunday’s Community Shield against Manchester City, but he has urged his team-mates to keep aiming higher.

The Welsh midfielder ended Arsenal’s nine-year trophy drought at the national stadium in May by drilling home a powerful left-foot shot in extra time to give his side a 3-2 win over Hull City.

Ramsey is relishing the opportunity to go head-to-head with Yaya Toure, whose statistics he matched last season, on Sunday

“There is always pressure on us to go out and perform,” said Ramsey. “I can still improve defensively and obviously I want to improve on the goals that I scored last season. I feel there is still a lot more to come.

“It was definitely a great feeling winning [the FA Cup] and we want that feeling again as quickly as possible. We want to try and win things this year and we believe we have a great opportunity of doing that.

“We always felt we were heading in the right direction. We had a lot of changes over the years with big players leaving for other clubs but we are a settled team, one where everyone gets on with each other and enjoys each other’s company, and I think you can see that on the pitch.

“He [Yaya Toure] had a full season last year and I missed [four] months but I think from the games I played [the stats] were fairly similar. The season he had was unbelievable so I just want to continue improving and hopefully I can take that into this season.”
