Most Improved Club
It is a tough choice, but we hear at the SATO like Lazio for the predicted Most Improved Club of 2009/2010. And why not the club did come in third place two years ago? All-in-all we think it will be a tight race for the award, but look for AS Roma and Sampdoria to be contenders as well. AS Roma will look to regain a top three seed next season and Cassano will vault Sampdoria back into the top ten, but the addition of forward Julio Cruz from Inter is what put the Lazio club over the top.
Most Improved Player
David Trezeguet of Juventus is our pick for Most Improved Player of the 2009/2010 season. Part of why we picked the Frenchman is because he was selected as Most Disappointing Player of 2008/2009. Trezeguet will bounce back this season and show Juventus why he remained loyal to the club and didn’t bolt for the Milan door. Trezeguet has plenty of room for improvement too, last year due to injuries the star forward only started in 8 league matches and scored 1 league goal. It was -19 goal drop from the previous year. This year Trezeguet will score at least 15 goals.
Best Player 32 & Up
Alessandro Del Piero of Juventus is the likely winner of Best Vet. Del Piero has played for Juventus since 1993, yes you read that right 1993. Del Piero has been with Juventus for so long he deserves a gold watch, but next year could be really special for the aging star player. Currently at 189 career league goals it is very likely that 2009/2010 will be the year the star player surpasses 200 for his excellent career.
