Team Overview: Founded in 1906, Real Deportivo de La Coruna is considered a fairly successful Spanish club especially in the last decade. Depor was La Liga champions during the 1999/2000 season. They have also been runner-up of La Liga five times including four times in the last fifteen years. Super Depor also is well known for their outstanding play in Cups. The club has won the Spanish Cup and Spanish Supercup a combined five times. They have also competed in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup five times for each.

Highest High: Deportivo La Coruna was among the best defense in the Primera Division this season. The club finished the year with the third fewest goals given up, only conceding 47. The result would be only 12 behind dominating champ Barcelona. Super Depor also had an excellent November/December winning six out of eight matches.
Lowest Low: The club did struggle this season scoring goals. Depor was unable to have a single player score in double digits this year and they only scored 47 goals total for the entire season. This would rank in the bottom half of the league and would be less then double of champs Barca’s total. Barcelona ended the year with 105 goals.
Future: One major fear Supe Depor will have to worry about in the near future is the loss of many of their most critical players from last year. The club (which was already weak on O) has lost their top two goal scorers from last year (Lafita and Verdu). Also the club is in the process of losing their best defenseman, Filipe Luis, to league champ Barcelona.
