SATO Serie A Matches of the Week (Oct. 24-25)

It’s a strange week this week in Serie A as no two top five squads will face-off against one another.  This week’s battles focus on middle-of-the-pack squads that are hungry to break into the top ten and seal a top six seed by season’s end.

Fiorentina-Napoli

This one is probably the strongest match of the week with Fiorentina hosting Napoli.  Both clubs have done pretty well recently with Fiorentina earning a draw last week against a banged-up Juventus squad and Napoli earned a victory over reeling Bologna.  Fiorentina is likely a top five squad by season’s end and currently reside in fourth place.  Napoli, on the other hand, is currently in 14th place and a win would move them further away from the dreaded relegation zone.

Palermo-Udinese

What happened to Udinese last weekend against Atalanta?  i know their defense isn’t great, but giving up three goals to Atalanta would be like giving up seven goals to Inter.  The defense needs better results in this critical road match against a squad that is starting to heat up in Palermo.  Currently in seventh place a win this weekend could move Palermo into the top six slots in the league table.

Chievo Verona-AC Milan

Chievo has been a nice surprise this year avoiding the relegation zone and earning middle-of-the-pack results.  Milan has a similar record with similar results, but they are likely a little more unhappy with the poor start this season.  But lets not be too hard on Milan.  They did cool down Roma last weekend, so this weekend they look to make it two victories in a row.
