Louis Saha appears to be surplus to the requirements at Old Trafford after years plagued by injury dating back to his arrival from Fulham in 2004.  The 29-year-old French international has been targeted by Italy’s A.S. Roma as well as several other top European clubs.  Saha could also be loaned out for next season since he is under contract at United until 2010.

Sir Alex Ferguson seems to be centering in on other forward options including Tottenham’s Dimitar Berbatov, Ajax’s Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Lyon’s Karim Benzema.

The 23-year-old winger remarked to the media at the tournament, “England does have a good appeal as it is one of the world’s best leagues. I’ve always wanted to play there and we’ll see if it happens this year.”
