Brazilian forward Ronaldinho is hoping that his performances for the Selecao against Bosnia tonight will enhance his chances of being called up to the Olympic side for his third consecutive consecutive Olympic appearance after having been part of Sydney 2000 and Beijing 2008.

Ronaldinho is one of the only Brazilian players to play at all levels for his country and with him reaching the pinnacle of his career, the 31 year old is keen on ending it on a high.

Speaking ahead of their friendly clash with Bosnia-Hezergovina, Ronaldinho expressed a lot of optimism about tonight’s fixture and playing for Brazil in the Olympics.

”It is a big competition. We are motivated to be there, of course,”

I will do my best to play the Olympics one more time.” Ronaldinho said.

Should Menezes pick Dinho as one of his 3 senior players for the tournament, the 31 year old will play alongside Ganso, Neymar, Pato, Damiao amongst other rising stars.

So do you think Ronaldinho should still be considered by Menezes for national duty or not?

I for one believe that age should not be the determining factor when considering who makes the squad and who doesn’t. The 2010 World Cup will go down in Brazil’s history as one they did not win because of Dunga’s age policy.

The former Brazil captain left out Neymar, Ganso and Ronaldinho from his sqaud much to the dismay of fans in Brazil and across the world. So despite slowly aging, Ronaldinho still performs and should continue to get called up until he ceases to perform.

He is the only player or one of the few who can create opportunities from nothing. A quality the game lacks nowadays. That said, a couple of more friendlies being played tomorrow that should be interest are:

England v Netherlands

Italy v USA

Germany v France

Poland v Portugal
