1) Iker Casillas- Real Madrid

Casillas is considered by most football critics the best keeper in the world.  And so far this season he has lived up to the billing as the best keeper in La Liga.  Although his club has allowed more goals then Barcelona, Casillas has been under attack more often then Barcelona’s Valdes and that is why he is first place as of now.  Also he shares a joint-lead for the most clean sheets in the league with eleven following nineteen matches.  A nice start to the year for Spain’s starter between the posts.

2) Victor Valdes- Barcelona

Many critics of the game consider Valdes to be the weak link to Barcelona’s greatness, but so far this year it is tough to fault a guy that has only given up 10 goals in 19 matches.  Of course having the defensive unit Valdes has to back him up never hurts, but the guy is playing well and deserves some of the credit.

3) Daniel Aranzubia- Deportivo La Coruna

Aranzubia might not be well known to the global football audience, but the guy is in third place in clean sheets and has some comfortable space between him and the rest of the pack.  with 10 clean sheets in 19 matches Aranzubia is achieving a shutout every other week so far this season.

4) Dudu Aouate- Mallorca

When your name is Dudu you have to play at the top of your game so that people don’t laugh at you.  Dudu Aouate has done exactly that this year.  With seven clean sheets Dudu is in fourth place.  The only question left is where is Kaka?
