Location: Giants Stadium East Rutherford, NJ

Time: 7:30 PM

The stars of FC Barcelona head to New York City to take on the MLS’s New York Red Bulls as the second stop on Barcelona’s U.S. tour. FC Barcelona are a team in transition as new manager Josep Guardiola has replaced Frank Rijkaard. Players will be looking to make a good impression with Guardiola so expect that Barcelona bring there complete roster with them including stars like Lionel Messi and Thiery Henry heading the lineup.

The Red Bulls are having a rough time in Major League Soccer this year as injuries to stars like C. Reyna and Juan Pablo Angel have really hurt. With a big crowd expected for the Barcelona game, expect the Red Bulls to be up for the game as they try and impress the New York soccer public.

Parking Advisory

Due to ongoing construction at the Meadowlands, the amount of parking spaces and available lots will be changing periodically throughout the season. As a result of these continuing improvements, traffic patterns and access to certain parking lots will be affected. Please allow extra time for travel and parking. We appreciate your patience as these improvements are made and thank you for helping us make your visit to Red Bulls matches a comfortable, convenient and pleasant one.

Due to construction at Giants Stadium, Parking Lots #3, 4, 7, 8, and parts of 5, 6, 13, and 17 will be closed for the rest of the season. Please use one of the other available lots.

Due to construction, the road that runs along Parking Lot #4 near Gates A & B will be closed after the pedestrian bridge.

At 5PM on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Chelsea Waterside Park (23rd Street and 12th Avenue, across from Chelsea Piers), the most storied soccer club in history, FC Barcelona, will be playing in a 4-on-4 tournament to benefit Malaria No More.

This historic event will be free and open to the public and will last for approximately one hour. In their first U.S. appearance in over two years, the intimate environment will allow fans the potential to get autographs and photos with their favorite players.

Do not miss this opportunity to sit inches away from finest players in the world; Mexican national team captain, Rafael Márquez; 2008 UEFA Euro 2008 MVP, Xavi Hernandez; and of course the indisputably world-renowned, Thierry Henry. Featuring three players from the Spanish Euro 2008 championship team, this event offers the once in a lifetime opportunity to rub shoulders with the most decorated club in the sport.

We encourage people to get out early so they can:

    1) Get prime seats to see the stars of FC Barcelona in action, up-close and personal and hopefully get an autograph or picture with their favorite player

    2) Get some of the exciting prizes we will be giving away from 3:00 PM to 4:45 (FC Barcelona jerseys, soccer balls, tickets to the game, t-shirts, etc.)
