The summer soccer season got even more appealing with the news that Real Madrid will be playing D.C. United on August 9th at FedEx Field in suburban Maryland.
The game will be played at the Washington Redskins’ stadium, FedEx Field, rather than United’s usual home at RFK Stadium. To make room for the match, United is moving their previously scheduled MLS game against the Kansas City Wizards to Sept. 9.
The game will have a 3pm EST kickoff because of European TV rights, so expect it to be a very warm day.
Real Madrid are expected to sign a couple of big stars ths summer so the D.C. United game could mark the debut of Ronaldo or Kaka in a Madrid shirt.
Reports in Toronto say that Real Madrid will play Toronto FC on Friday, Aug. 7.
