There is a storm brewing at the bridge between Chelsea players David Luiz and Frank Lampard. According to reports emerging, David Luiz is accused of criticising team mate Frank Lampard during an interview with a Portuguese newspaper.
So just what did Luiz say that has got him making all the headlines today?
“No one has to be someone’s father or son in a football club,”
“There are no privileged people there. He simply has to listen to the coach when he gives orders and take them. No player can forget that they are just an employee of the club. A lot of the controversies are created by the British media,” Luiz said to Jogo newspaper. Read more... (352 words, 1 image, estimated 1:24 mins reading time)
It is no secret that Frank Lampard and Villas-Boas do not read from the same page. In fact, only last week, the veteran Chelsea midfielder make it clear that their were problems between them.
“I think, from the outside, you can probably see that it’s not been ideal but the important thing is not to focus on individual relationships too much. It can only be negative and people do like to play on negatives.”
Lampard who scored in Saturday’s 3-0 home win over Bolton became the first player to reach double digit goals in nine consecutive seasons in the Premier League. Read more... (326 words, 1 image, estimated 1:18 mins reading time)

Once again Chelsea took the lead away from home in a Champions League tie, and just like they did in the group stages, they let that led get away as they 3-1 in Napoli in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie.
It was three really poor goals that Chelsea gave up in Italy tonight. And it really cost them because this is not a great Napoli side, and I believe Chelsea can get more than the two goals they need to progress at Stamford Bridge in three weeks. Read more... For the second time, Chelsea‘s John Terry has been stripped of the England captaincy. The English Football Association confirmed that Terry was informed of the decision by FA chairman David Bernstein in a phone call Friday morning.
Terry is due to stand trial in July over racial abuse allegations after an incident with QPR’s Anton Ferdinand and there has been mounting pressure within England to remove Terry as England’s captain ahead of this summer’s Euro 2012 competition

Chelsea continue to hemorrhage money after announcing a loss of £67.7million for the financial year ending June 30, 2011.
That is only a slight drop decrease from the loss of £70.9million in 2010, as Chelsea struggles to fall in line with UEFA’s new financial fair play rules.
Since Roman Abramovich bought the club, Chelsea have now lost a combined £620million.
Transfer fees were a main contributor to the loss, while Chelsea tried to spin the story to focus on the record club turnover of £222.3million. The £17.5m in increased revenue was due to higher receipts from the Champions League as well as an increase in TV rights relating to overseas broadcasting of Premier League matches. Read more... Newcastle’s hopes of taking advantage of Chelsea‘s draw at Norwich were stopped by a five-goal second-half blitz from Fulham as they lost 5-2 at Fulham.
Fulham were poor in the first-hald and it was no surprise that Newcastle scored first thanks to a Danny Guthrie thunderbolt from outside the area.
Not sure what Martin Jol said at half-time, but it was a completely different Fulham side that took the pitch in the second half. Fulham got a hat-trick from Clint Dempsey (the first ever by an American in the Premier League) and penalties from Danny Murphy and Bobby Zamora as the Cottagers picked up three big points. It has become very hard for analysts and pundits to predict Chelsea results as their roller coaster form has led to inconsistent results for much of the season. However, could Chelsea’s performances be linked to the supposed rift between senior players and the coach?
Chelsea did win last night’s game against Wolverhampton 2-1 and despite that making the news, more controversy was raised during AVB’s post match press conference where the young tactician denied there was a rift between him and some senior players after both Frank Lampard and John Terry were not seen celebrating with him. Chelsea moved back up to fourth place in the Premier League after picking up a 2-1 away victory against Wolves, although it took an 89th-minute winner by Frank Lampard to end Chelsea’s four-match winless run.
Stephen Ward thought he had done enough to earn Wolves their fourth consecutive draw when he cancelled out Ramires’s second-half effort with just five minutes remaining, but Lampard pounced to take the Blues a point above Arsenal, who failed to reclaim fourth spot after losing 2-1 at Fulham.
