Chelsea‘s Portuguese midfielder Deco is set to leave the English champions after an unimpressive 2 year stint in London. Deco was part of the trio that included Eto’o and Ronaldinho who were offloaded by former Barcelona president Joan Laporta after the executive claimed that they were the main reason for growing disquiet in the Nou Camp.
The 32 year old Brazilian born Portuguese had a year left on his contract however, he will not be seeing it out. Bought from Barcelona for 8 million Pounds, Deco was Luis Felipe Scolari’s first signing. Read more... (288 words, 1 image, estimated 1:09 mins reading time)

Former world player of the year Kaka could be on his way out of the Bernabeu after only one season. The 28 year old has struggled for fitness since joining Los Blancos last summer and with Jose Mourinho taking over as Madrid‘s new coach and a host of new acquisitions expected to arrive, the Brazilian might find himself relegated to the bench.
The world’s second most expensive player has been consistently linked with a move to the EPL with Chelsea and Manchester city being his most likely destination. Read more... (373 words, 1 image, estimated 1:30 mins reading time)

The father of Brazilian Starlet Neymar reacted angrily to Santos rejection of Chelsea‘s 17 Million Pound offer for his son. I can only imagine how the senior Neymar must be feeling. With the many of his fans still coming to terms with his exclusion from Brazil‘s World Cup Squad, Neymar Da Silva was at least hoping that Chelsea’s interest in his son would materialise without any glitches.
Neymar’s club career has been exceptional to say the least. Since January this year, the 18 year old has made 30 appearances for Santos and scored 27 goals. It is his keen eye for goal and lightning pace that attracted EPL club Chelsea to contract his services. Read more... (437 words, 1 image, estimated 1:45 mins reading time)

Reigning English champions Chelsea are lining up a bid to land Brazil‘s hottest talent Neymar. The 18 year old has been the talk of the samba nation ever since he burst into the limelight with Brazil’s youth team in last year’s u-17 World Cup finals staged in Nigeria.
Now i won’t pretend and say that i have watched any of Neymar’s games because i haven’t , but just for the record, this is definitely not the first time i am hearing of Neymar. I have always been a fan of Brazilian football and the first time i came across this name was two years ago. Read more... (362 words, 1 image, estimated 1:27 mins reading time)

The transfer move is not certain but it appears more and more likely that Ashley Cole will be heading to the Bernabeau to join his old Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid. It is quite obvious that Chelsea did not need the money from the transfer but it appears that neither Carlo Ancelotti, the Chelsea manager, or Roman Abramovich, the Chelsea coach, are making too much of a fuss about the move at the moment. This is quite understandable. Chelsea have benefited from arguably the four best seasons of Ashley Cole’s career and stand to make a healthy profit on the move, provided the rumoured figures of around £30 million are correct. He has not impressed at all during the World Cup, but that has not discouraged Chelsea from submitting a formal £40million offer to Liverpool for Fernando Torres.
It seems that Torres is Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti’s top target and Roman Abramovich is ready to bankroll the deal.
The bid puts new Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson in a tough situation. He has already admitted he can offer no guarantee that either Torres or skipper Steven Gerrard will be at Anfield next season.
Liverpool’s financial problems are well known and if Chelsea up their bid to between £60-70 million then I cannot see Liverpool’s owners being able to turn that deal down. Read more... (236 words, 1 image, estimated 57 secs reading time)

Ricardo Izecson Dos Santos Leite aka Kaka might be leaving Spain after only one season. The world’s second most expensive player failed to live up to expectation at Spanish giants Real Madrid after his whooping 65 million Euro transfer from AC Milan last summer.
With Jose Mourinho taking over from Pellegrini, drastic changes are expected at Real. Kaka stated that he might not be able to adapt to Mourinho’s new changes thus leaving the door open for a possible exit. Read more... (337 words, 1 image, estimated 1:21 mins reading time)

While we all gear up for this weekend’s matches I offer up one quick prediction: England is doomed.
It pains me to say this as I had great hopes for this England side. Capello seems a Mourinho without the smarm. David James is at that stage that older keepers, baseball pitchers and country club tennis players reach; they stop relying on power and athleticism and depend on guile and knowing the angles. Rooney, for all his bluster and despite playing for the loathsome Manchester United, has thoroughbred speed and a masterful sense of improvisation inside the eighteen. Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Jermain Defoe, even the wobbly Emile Heskey all inspired a sense of optimism about this side, that maybe this was the team that would do England proud. Read more... Few players or coaches for that matter have the talent or ability to turn the face of any game and inspire a win when the odds are against them. Messi, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo (Brazil), Mourinho and Bob Bradley are just a few people who belong to this special niche. However, after the Netherlands 2-1 win over Cameroon last night, one more name was added to the growing list.
Arjen Robben the former Chelsea, Real Madrid and current Bayern Munich star player proved to the 63,093 fans present in Cape Town’s Green Point Stadium and the billions watching around the world what happens when opportunity and preparation along with a stroke of creative genius does when mixed together. Nicolas Anelka got a jump on his summer holidays ahead of his Frence teammates as France announced they had sent the Chelsea striker home from the World Cup following a dressing-room bust-up with French coach Raymond Domenech.
Anelka was asked to apologise by French Football Federation president Jean-Pierre Escalettes and, upon refusing to do so, was asked to leave the squad.
“He will leave the Team France camp this evening,” said a statement posted on the FFF website on Saturday.
