Robbie Keane showed his class and goal scoring abilities Saturday as the La Galaxy beat the San Jose Earthquakes 2-0.
It took Keene only 21 minutes to announce his arrival in MLS when he was sent through by a pass from Beckham. Keane waited out Quakes goalie Jon Busch, fired home a left-footed shot.

Multiple sources confirm that Republic of Ireland star Robbie Keane is on his way to Los Angeles where he will undergo a physical ahead of signing a two-year, $8 million contract with the LA Galaxy
Keane is currently under contract to Tottenham Hotspur of the Barclays Premier League, where has has played since January 2009 (his second stint with the North London club). Joe Hart saved A.J. DeLaGarza’s penalty and then scored the winner in the ninth round of a penalty shootout as Manchester City beat the Los AngelesGalaxy 7-6 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
Mario Balotelli opened the scoring for Man City from the penalty spot after Micah Richards was taken down in the box by Bryan Jordan. Less than 10 minutes Balotelli was on the bench after this showboating play drew the ire of City boss Roberto Mancini.
THe LA Galaxy were given a lesson in finishing last night as Real Madrid opened their pre-season with an impressive 4-1 victory over the LAGalaxy.
Real Madrid is one of the best teams in the world, and even with a strong line-up, the Galaxy could not hang with the Spanish giants. Madrid won 63% of the tackles in the game, had 60% of the possession and had 20 shots on goal to LA’s 8.

After the LA Galaxy v New England Revolution match on Saturday I had to chance to hear what David Beckham and Landon Donovan had to say about the victory, the Champions League Final and the Galaxy performance so far this season. This is what they had to say:
As soon as I pulled into Gillette stadium you could tell that this was not a regular MLS game. Two hours before kickoff the parking lot was filling up as fans came to see the rockstars of Major League Soccer; David Beckham, Landon Donovan and the LA Galaxy.
A crowd of 21,793 saw the LAGalaxy beat the New England Revolution 1-0. Miguel Lopez was the Galaxy scorer as he headed in a great Beckham cross.

Just days after announcing that the LA Galaxy will play Real Madrid on July 16th and the LA Coliseum, the Galaxy announces that they will play Manchester City on Sunday, July 24 at The Home Depot Center.

The match pitted together two of the three best sides in MLS and this game lived up to the hype as the two sides played to a 1-1 draw. The soccer was of such high quality that the final scoreline hardly mattered. In short it was the best game I have seen in MLS because of the quality of play. David Beckham who turned 36 earlier this week, says that wants to continue playing until he is 39. The big question is where Beckham will play his contract with the LA Galaxy ends later this year.
Beckham told reporters at the weekend:
“As long as I feel healthy and fit, I will continue to play. And, right now, I feel great. I feel ready to play for one, two, three more years.
