Barcelona Cruise in FIFA Club World Cup

Barcelona had to come back from a goal down to beat Atlante 3-1 and qualify for the World Club Cup final. Barca got goals from Sergio, Messi and Pedro. Pedro has noe scored in six different competitions this year, a new record.

With a win in the final, Barcelona will win their sixth trophy in 2009, a remarkable total.

Everyone expected the best team in the World to steamroll Atlante, but after just four minutes, Atlante took a shock lead. The Mexican goalkeeper sent a long ball forward from a free kick for Rojas to surprise the Barca defence and lob the ball over Valdés.

The goal seemed to wake Barcelona up and they went close to scoring several times before getting the equalizer from a well worked corner. Xavi’s corner, was flicked on by Toure and Busquets scored at the back post.

After the break, the best player in the world made an apperance and Messi made an immediate impact, scoring within 10 minutes after taking a brilliant pass from Ibrahimovic and firing past Vilas.

The in the 67th minute history was made Iniesta broke down the left wing and crossed for Pedro to score from inside the box. The Canary Islander has now scored in a record six competitions in 2009.

Next up for Barcelona is Estudiantes on Saturday at which time Barcelona will officially be crowned World Club Champion.
