Brilliant and passionate post! I have had similar frustrations lurking in my heart- as the sole income for a family of six, I cannot afford the cable specialty channels needed to watch footy or the must sign up for 300 channels clause for these.

Standing ovation and when does the petition signing begin? BTW- Are you interested in singing up for our MFLS Blogger Competition? See http://nutmegging.blogspot.com/.

I can't believe you write a soccer blog without viewing Fox Soccer Channel on a daily basis. No wonder it's so limited to the US (not that that's a bad thing). The most entertaining and football centric show is the FFF on FSC. 2 hours of ridiculously insightful and witty commentary on international, english, italian and even american football.

Go out and spend the extra $10-15 per month(don't know where the hell randall lives, but you might want to look into switching providers). You'll have some soccer oriented programming to watch full time and probably become better informed after watching their programming. Not to mention their 30+ MLS reg season games on the slate for this year.

yeah, I like 360, but its not exactly the same as watching them on TV. I also used it for the WC at the office last summer. Not bad results, just not the same either.

if i had the dish, i would pony up the $100 bucks for the games. maybe when i move i will get rid of this shitty cable company.

Randall have you looked into ESPN 360?

A couple of years ago I watched almost all my World cup games online in the office

Our Fox Sports (the one that comes with basic cable) has no soccer.

You can get the Fox Soccer Channel, which does carry about a game a week, for an extra fee.

Messed up thing is though that they make you order the "sports package" to get FSC, which means you also have to buy Speed Network, Outdoor Channel, Curling TV, Badminton News, etc., etc. It's like a 10 channel package and its predictably about an extra $50 a month.

I love watching MLS, but 600 bucks for 30 games is not a good ratio...

I guess my cable company sucks.

What about Fox Sports? In New England we call it Fox Soccer Channel. They are carrying 32 games I believe with a 30 min pre-game and post-game show.

I agree with you on Harkes. He is better than Shep Messing though.
